Until Three years ago, staying fit was easy. Mother Nature gave me the “easy to loose weight” metabolism which spared me any type of hard core workout or diet regime. It wasn't until bed rest three years ago that I lost that ability. Probably because I lost a ton of muscle mass...I really am not an expert but that seems to make the most sense. Right after Addie was born, I broke my public symphesis delaying my recovery even more. Since then I have been a solid 20-25 pounds overweight. I work out 3-6 times per week with weights and cardio but have seen little in the way of progress. I now have to start some type of diet regime beyond my normal intake.
I am not sure my family would sustain a crazy, life-altering diet so something that can fit into what we eat and have in our pantry is a good start. I started looking into to several options: Paleo Diet, Body For Life, Beach Body…and so on. They are all compelling diets. Now it is up to me to institute it and live by it. My first goal is to go for 30 days on the Paleo Diet. My friend and workout partner, Molly is going to do it with me. It is a diet based on the assumed diet of our super distant relatives – the cave man when the primary food sources were whole fruits, nuts, roots, and any protein that could be hunted.
I started on Saturday and have already cheated twice Beer one night and edameme beans last night but today is another day, and I get to start again!
