    Turkey on the Run - Three years runnin'...

    We have been running the Annual Turkey on the Run - ThanksgivingAddie and Roper bundled for the run... Fun Run for 3 years.  The 2010 was a blast....of chilly cold at 10 degrees but we bundled up and went to it. 

    INFO PROVIDED BY TURKEY ON THE RUN - Turkey On The Run is great way to kick off your holiday season with fun and fitness! Our 5k Run/Walk, 12k Run and Kids Run will start and finish at beautiful Rotary Park in Wenatchee, WA. The run starts at 9:00 am sharp for both distances. There will be day of registration. Age group winners will receive great prizes and we will have great raffle prizes for everyone! Please bring a canned food donation, to help support our local food banks!

    Another Jack-o-lantern Story...

    Why Carve Pumpkins?

    The story of the Jack o'Lantern comes from Irish folklore. Jack was a crafty farmer who tricked the Devil into climbing a tall tree. When the Devil reached the highest branch, Jack carved a large cross in the trunk, making it impossible for the Devil to climb down.

    In exchange for help getting out of the tree, the Devil promised never to tempt Jack with evil again. When Jack died, he was turned away from Heaven for his sins and turned away from Hell because of his trickery. Condemned to wander the earth without rest, Jack carved out one of his turnips, took an ember from the devil, and used it for a lantern to light his way. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern."

    Homework Hating!
